New(ish) releases: Bandigoat, The Seekers, and more

Down here on the coast at 13° north latitude, the days don't ever get too short, and "cold" is an unfamiliar concept. Nevertheless, what passes for the winter season is upon us!

And because we are slow to update the blog, we have lots of announcements.

We released two new book-length titles in October!

The first: Bandigoat: A Collection of Strange & Horrible Tales.

This isn't your typical horror anthology. Seven writers—Rashmi Ruth Devadasan, Srividya Tadepalli, M L Krishnan, Miriam Kumaradoss-Hohauser, Lungmying Lepcha, Jugal Mody, and Kuzhali Manickavel—have pooled their uncanny talents into one slim, vicious volume full of stray dogs, murder hornets, ice cream boys, and boochandis with too many toes.

We had our launch a few days before Halloween at the bonzerclass Tambaram art gallery Kannadi Cupboard, where things got a little gory (sorry, the knives we brought were a little too sharp). We had Anjali Alappat in conversation with Kuzhali, Rashmi, and Srividya, picking apart the guts of their stories.

And what's a horror book release without some gourd mutilation?

Don't think twice.... blink thrice. The bandigoat awaits you.

The second new release: The Seekers by Gautamiputra Kamble, translated by Sirus J. Libeiro.

This is our first translation from Marathi, and a little different from anything we've ever published before. It's a bit difficult to pin to a genre, but we've been using "Phule-Ambedkarite historico-philosophical hopepunk". The book was funded as a stretch goal for our Anti-Caste Speculative Fiction Kickstarter campaign. (One story from the book, "Parivrajak", appeared in that anthology.)

We are doing some events for this book!
